Thematic one-time workshops for school groups
1. 3D printing and 3D designing
Presentation of increasingly widely used technologies – 3D design and 3D printing. Participants will be introduced to the world of 3D design and will learn about the program through which they will be able to create their own individual project, in accordance with the established topics. There will be live 3D printing throughout the duration of the workshop. After the workshop, all participants’ projects will be printed and delivered to the school.
Detailed description:
Presentation of the 3D printer – we explain to the group in a simple way how it works, and together we launch the first 3D print
Presentation of a gallery of prints – we take dozens of different works to each workshop, and you can touch each of them
Preparation of a preliminary design – each student works independently at the computer, we show the basic functions of the 3D design program
Preparation of the main project – each student receives instructions based on which they create a 3D project on the computer
Interesting facts about 3D printing in the world – in how many areas it is used and how many people use it, e.g. denture prints
End of the workshop – presentation of children’s works on computers, everyone receives their own project printed on a 3D printer (a week after the end of the workshop)
Depending on the age of the group, we adjust the topic and level of advancement of the self-made 3D project.
Example scenarios: Mother’s Day project, Halloween, Easter projects, castles and buildings and many others.
2. 3D pens
Workshops with 3D pens involve a lot of independent work. With their help, you can create unusual spatial structures. 3D pens are a great way to develop students’ spatial imagination and creativity.
Detailed description:
- 3D pens – we explain the principle of operation and operation
- Each student receives a 3D pen
- We start with a simple project showing the technique of working with a 3D pen
- We distribute worksheets dedicated to 3D pens
- Presentation of works – each participant presents the effect of his or her work.
- Children take their own projects home
It is possible to match the theme of the project to the event: e.g. a Mother’s Day project, a 3D Valentine’s Day, a Christmas tree pendant and much more. Suggest your own topic and we will try to implement it with the children!
3. Virtual reality
VR technology enables a trip to any place in the world, without leaving the school walls. Special and safe VR glasses allow you to conduct workshops for groups during which students will be able to find themselves on the African savannah face to face with wild animals, dive with dolphins, go back to prehistory and walk among mammoths, dinosaurs, or even fly a rocket into space.
Description of the sample scenario: "Traveling in the world of wild animals VR":
- VR glasses – we explain the principle of operation and operation
- We distribute VR glasses to everyone – the instructor controls all the glasses at the same time from his computer.
- 360 demonstration film – safari, during which children will learn about the functions of glasses
- Safari journey – meeting with cheetah and rhinos
- 3D cubes – everyone receives a card with a printed QR code, everyone cuts it out and glues it together to create a cube that will be used to present animals in 3D: lion, giraffe, elephant, rhinoceros
- A visit to the underwater world: swimming with sea lions, and for those interested, a meeting with a shark
- Impressions from the classes, discussion of VR in the process of remembering
Possible choice of another topic of classes: prehistory, wildlife, cities of the world, the most beautiful places and many others.
Organization of classes:
- workshops are held for the entire class
- we arrive at the facility
- duration 90 minutes (2 lesson hours)
- for the duration of the workshop, the contractor provides the necessary equipment depending on the selected topic: laptops, 3D printer, 3D pens, VR goggles for participants
- each participant will receive items of their own design, which will be printed in 3D technology and delivered to the school
- classes take place in a computer room or on computers provided by our company
- possibility of conducting several workshop groups in one day.
Workshop effects:
- learning about the latest technologies
- developing students’ digital competences
- development of spatial imagination and creativity
- stimulation of abstract thinking
- developing eye-hand coordination
- learning through playing
- a self-made item for each child using 3D technology
What else can we offer?
- Cyclical extracurricular activities in which children participate once a week and develop their 3D design and 3D printing skills
- Workshops/classes during summer/winter in the city
- Thematic summer camps
- Training for teachers and assistance in implementing 3D technologies in school
